I have been shopping for more than 7 months for aluminium windows and stacker does for my patio. Most suppliers were either expensive, those who were cheap the material was cheap and quality of the work was poor. A friend recommended Alu Decor. Great service from Gavin and the team. Price is very fair. Quality of the work is exceptional. I wish I met them earlier.

To understand this review, you have to see it in 3 sections.
Sales:
Gavin did the initial scoping. 2 stacking doors, 3 sliding doors, 1 window and two sides and a roof to an outdoor office. I had 1 stipulation. Do my office first! So we can play musical rooms and offices to get the project done with minimal disruption.
I was given an install date 3 weeks in advance. 2.5 weeks later final measurements were done, ahead of manufacturing. I enquired about gutters and was told they didn't supply that. I was told in total the job should take 4 days. 1 day for the office, 1 day for the two stacking doors, 1 day for the one window and 1 day for the final window.
Engineering:
I got a call requesting a day or two delay. The a phone call telling me they were coming to do the bedroom. There was a lot of pre and post building work to be done in this room, which is why I wanted the office first! I declined.
Installer: (sub contractor)
They the came to do the office and kitchen window. I was told the office needed a frame, which was not specked. The installer started on the kitchen window. It took an entire day, as it was manufactured incorrect size.
The few days later they started the office frame which took 3 days. I was offered gutters. I accepted the quote and was then told it would take 5 - 7 days to manufacture.
Everything ground to a halt, and in the last week they pushed everything in. There were also delays with glass and manufacturing. We slept in the spare room, clothes in a heap in another room, I worked in the lounge while banging and clanging was going on. Finally the office was completed last. In total it took most of February.
In the end I'm happy with the final product? Yes 100%. 10/10. But the process was abysmal. Would I recommend this company to anyone? Yes but with caution.
Would I use them again? I doubt it, unless there are significant improvement to the process.
I'd also recommend that they do QA once the job is completed. We know what happens (City Power & JRA) when a contractor is the last to have customer interaction.
But all that said, in time I will forget the friction, but will still have the home improvements, and that is a plus.

Chris and his team were absolutely brilliant with handling one of my own projects. My first aluminium supplier let me down which put me in a bad spot with my client, I then came across Alu Decor glass solutions and spoke to Chris, he did not hesitate to help me complete my project and not to mention he done it within a couple of days after hearing my story even though it was short notice. I should also mention that the quality of the product and the workmanship of the installation definitely deserves 5 stars. I will recommend Alu Decor glass solutions anytime. Thank you to Gary from Alu decor for a prompt service. We had our patio enclosed with sliding aluminium doors and requested that the frame be installed first before we re- tiled. They accommodated us and completed the final installation of doors as requested. The staff kept me updated on their progress at the end of each day. I have extremely scew walls on my patio and Tshepo the installer, did his utmost to ensure that my windows and doors fitted perfectly. Gary had to measure every inch because of different sizes and the factory manufactured as per his drawings. Very happy with the service received from Alu-decor.

What an all round excellent service we received from Alu Decor. We have been doing a massive renovation and Alu provided excellent service, manufacturing and installing 6 huge stacking aluminium doors and 13 windows. All done to our satisfaction. The promised lead times were achieved. The quality of work really great. Even when there was a mishap with a glass that cracked on site - the team was quick to come back tom site with a replacement.
