Mintek Mineral Mines
Block 9000 Renovation —Randburg
Alu Décor was appointed by Zidlaphi Kgomo and Associates to be part of a major office renovation for Mintek Mineral Mines in Randburg. We completely renovated the top 3 floors of Block 9000.
Our specific responsibility was the Internal Frameless Glass Office Partitions. The brief was demanding: maximum glass and minimal exposed fixing points.
Recessed Floor Integration
We achieved the brief by cutting into the floor and recessing our glass using industry-leading glazing procedures.
Custom Fixing System
The slab above was far above the actual glass height, so we designed a non-exposed custom glass fixing system to achieve a seamless look and feel.
Curved Partitions
A great challenge for our design team, the project required precise glass designs, drawings, and measurements for curved frameless partitions.
We are very thankful that the glass manufacture and installation went extremely well. We have a very happy client with extremely modern and beautiful new office glass partitions.
Custom Turnkey Sunroom Addition
Creating seamless indoor-outdoor living space.
For this residential project, Alu-Decor delivered a complete turnkey solution. We constructed a custom shell and awning roof structure to transform an open outdoor space into a fully enclosed sunroom. The installation features premium white powder-coated Aluminum Folding Stacking Doors, allowing the homeowner to completely open the room to the garden or seal it tight against the weather.

Open-Plan Structural Renovation
Removing barriers with heavy-duty structural support and Palace Sliding Doors.
This project required significant structural expertise to modernize the home’s facade. We removed the existing concrete pillars and top wall to create an unobstructed view. To support the structure, we installed two heavy-duty 305 x 165 steel I-beams. The space was then enclosed using large-scale Aluminum Palace Sliding Doors in a dark finish, replacing the dated burglar bars with high-security, modern glass solutions.
